American Christians praying for their President

prayer

Why Pray?

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. --I Timothy 2:1-2

The Christians have just witnessed a historic election which will go down in history as a fulfillment of the words of Martin Luther King Jr. that "the people living in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Many Christians, prior to the election, are not in favor of Barack Obama due to his stand on legalizing abortion beside other matters such as liberal acquisition of guns. However, they are now willing to unite behind the curtain of prayer and uplift their national leaders in prayer according to 1Timothy 2:1-2

You can see more of this at their website: Presidential Prayer Team

May we too, knowing the power of prayer pray for our nation and leaders that godly people will arise to lead us out of the spiritual doldrums and economic tsunami, so that the gospel of Jesus Christ will bring national repentance and peace to the hearts of all peoples.
